Sheriff's Office
The Sheriff is responsible for leading, guiding and directing the Hillsborough County
Sheriffs's Office.

Deputy sheriff's are all state certified police officers, trained by the New Hampshire
Police Academy. Continuous training and a high degree of professionalism assist with
conducting our inherently dangerous duties every day. Sheriff's and deputies have
statewide law enforcement authority.

The Sheriff and his deputies perform a variety of duties including:

~ fugitive apprehension
~ warrant investigations
~ directed police patrols
~ transportation to and custody and control of prisioners in the two Superior Courts
  and six District Courts within Hillsborough County
~ rendition of fugitives from justice who have fled the state
~ assistance to local police agencies
~ investigations
~ court security
~ service of civil process, including domestic violence and family court issues
~ and emergency communications services.

In addition, our current Sheriff leads the Southern Hillsborough County Cybersafe
Task Force, that is a mulit-agency initiative to protect children from Internet
predators and provide education to parents and children to reduce the risk of being
victimized on the Internet.

Hillsborough County Deputies have also been assigned to the High Intensity-High
Visibility anti-gang patrols in the city of Manchester.

Sheriff Deputies also participate in joint fugitive apprehension efforts withthe U.S.
Marshal's Office.
