The Intensive Juvenile
Intervention Program
The Hillsborough County Intensive Juvenile Intervention
Program (IJIP) began in October of 2000 with the intention
of preventing the placement of youth outside of the home,
serving youth that are adjudicated within the court system, and are typically on
probation or conditional release. They have committed a delinquent act or are
the subject of a CHINS petition filed by their school, police, or their parents or
legal guardians.
Referral Policy
Referrals to this program are frequently from the police, school resource
officers, schools, Juvenile Probation & Parole Officers (JPPO's), and may be
court court ordered.
Home based Program
Clients in this program are typically 12 to 18 years of age. The duration of this
home based service is determined by the needs of the family and client in
conjunction with the wishes of the court and the referral agency. Meetings with
the youth are held generally twice a week and may include family therapy.
Staff support of Youth and Family
On behalf of the youth, IJIP staff attend court hearing and frequent school
meetings as well as any other important meetings where their presence is
requested.
Assist youth to get on feet
IJIP social workers coordinate service delivery with other agencies and provide
case management for each client.
Additionally, services include assisting with establishing community service and
restitution (when required), help in gaining employment and achieving
compliance with court orders.
Calls and Inquiries Completely Confidential
All calls and inquiries are held completely confidential. Callers will be referred to
one of our social workers who will contact you and address your concerns and
questions and possibly arrange a meeting. Parents must call the program directly
to initiate services. Call 603.621.1478
