As the former chair of the Goffstown-Weare Republican Town Committee, I NEVER allowed
Democrat trackers to attend my committee meetings. The way I saw it, and my members agreed,
our meetings were an opportunity for members to meet and greet candidates in a secure and
private setting, NOT an opportunity for Democrat trackers to record "gotcha" moments to be used
against our candidates in future commercials. Funny, they always asked how I knew they were
trackers. You're kidding, I thought! I won't give my secrets away but suffice to say, I could spot a
Democrat tracker a mile away. Now, here's the story, Republican chairs and leaders beware and
know, your meetings are private gatherings, for your members, unless held in an open field, you
DO NOT have to allow Democrat trackers in. And, if you can't spot them, do as the chair of my
County GOP committee does, make an announcement, at the beginning of your meeting, that this
meeting is for Republicans only. If you are not a Republican or if you are a Democrat tracker,
LEAVE NOW, and they will.

Trailing G.O.P. With Cameras, Seeking Gaffes

By MICHAEL D. SHEAR

Aaron Fielding quietly stalks his prey — Republicans — with his video
camera, patiently waiting for a political moment worthy of YouTube.
At 27, he is a full-time “tracker” for American Bridge 21st Century, a
new Democratic organization that aims to record every handshake,
every utterance by Republican candidates in 2011 and 2012, looking
for gotcha moments that could derail political ambitions or provide
fodder for television advertisements by liberal groups next year.
